Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 June 2026
1. Who we are
The Expat Lawyer is operated by Expat Law Thailand Ltd., a company providing AI-assisted, bilingual (English/Thai) legal document templates intended as drafting aids for expatriates and their advisors in Thailand. Contact: office@expatlawthailand.com.
2. Not a law firm, not legal advice
The Expat Lawyer is not a law firm. Using this service does not create an attorney–client relationship. Documents generated by the service are produced by an AI model drawing on a curated reference bank and are not legally binding on their own. They are starting drafts intended to reduce your legal and translation costs.
You agree to have any document reviewed and finalised by a qualified Thai lawyer before signing, filing, or relying on it. We expressly disclaim any warranty that the output is suitable for your specific matter, complete, up-to-date with current Thai law, or fit for any particular purpose.
3. Optional lawyer review
When you select the optional lawyer-review add-on, your draft is forwarded to Mekin Lawyer Office, an independent licensed Thai law firm, for review within 48 business hours. The attorney–client relationship in that case is between you and Mekin Lawyer Office, not us.
4. Your responsibilities
- You confirm that the information you submit is accurate and that you have the right to use it.
- You are at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to contract.
- You will not use the service to create documents intended for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or any unlawful purpose.
5. Pricing, payment, and refunds
Prices are shown in Thai Baht (THB) and processed by Stripe. A standard document is ฿500; custom documents are ฿995–฿1,995 depending on complexity; the lawyer review add-on is ฿2,500.
Because each document is generated on demand and individually delivered, orders are non-refundable once the document has been generated. If generation fails on our end, or you were charged but received nothing, we will refund in full. See our Refund Policy for the full terms.
6. Intellectual property
We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify and distribute the document you paid for, for any lawful purpose. The underlying templates, software, and reference bank remain our property.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss resulting from your reliance on a draft that was not reviewed by a qualified lawyer.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page; continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
